Super glad that I purchased this device. Having AFib and asthma, and needing to lose some weight, I want something to monitor my key heart health stats during work outs. As a health monitoring instrument, nothing outside of a doctor’s office beats the ScanWatch 2. The Apple Watch comes close (at more than twice the price) but cannot measure blood oxygen as this can.
I researched a lot of devices and this has everything I needed. It measures pulse and heart rhythm plus SpO2. It detects irregular heart rhythms and irregular respiration during sleep. It has step counting, workout monitoring, gps tracking, and easy compatibility with iPhones. Plus the battery lasts for two weeks or more. All of that in a sleek watch face is a modern miracle.
It also offers some smartwatch features that I don’t care about like notifications of phone calls and texts. The app that accompanies this watch is essential and quite well configured.
I wish that Withings would drop the analog watch face and offer this with a full face digital screen. As it is, the digital screen is a tiny inset at the top of the face. At the bottom of the face is another small inset “activity dial” which is utterly useless.
Setting aside that minor complaint, this device is one of those rarities that does its job very well and looks decent at the same time. Highly recommended.

First off, the build quality is excellent. The battery life, after the first couple of recharges, is very good, the readability is crystal clear, and it looks to be very clean, modern, and NOT like a smartwatch!
As for the tracking capabilities, for the exercise, or for health, are a bit mixed. The health tracking, such as for sleep, blood, oxygen levels, EKG, or any of the other aspects is excellent. The app itself is very well designed, as a lot of good tutorials for the device and is easy to understand and follow. It also has a lot of health tracking recommendations, exercise recommendations, and beats the Fitbit app in multiple areas.
Where the device could use some improvement, would be with GPS tracking for outdoor activities, and a higher selection of activities to select from.

First of all, I love this watch for the simple and easy to navigate screen. Just the 1 button is all you need. I’m also a sucker for analog faces. I got this watch because I wanted to start getting into shape and then that eventually lead me to start training for a sprint triathlon (which I completed a few weeks ago!). Here are the pros and cons from my experience.
    Pro:
Aesthetically pleasing. I really love the fact that you can’t tell it’s a smartwatch at a glance. The display is easy to read. I’m legally blind and don’t struggle too much.
The auto sensor is nice when I can’t be bothered to input each workout mode and the readings are usually not too far off. Sometimes though, I will need to manually adjust run/walk sessions.
The battery life is great for a smartwatch. I can go on vacation and not need to pack a charger.
All the functions are easy to get to with just 1 button. There isn’t a touchscreen you have to worry about failing. The button/dial works fine underwater too.
I’m hard on things so I appreciate the durable sapphire glass and athletic band.
The ecg, sleep tracking, and the oxygen saturation functions are nice to have and I’ve used them. I definitely monitor my heart rate during workouts
    Cons
The BIGGEST con for me is it doesn’t track swim distance. It just guestimates the calories you burned by how long you swam. For running and biking, it tracks distance fairly accurately, but I get nothing for swimming.
The gps function works maybe 65% of the time. Even if I’m walking with my phone in my purse or biking with the phone in a fanny pack, the watch will sometimes disconnect. When it does, the distance tracking won’t work properly nor will it properly map my route.
Not Really Cons But Features I’d Appreciate
    GPS map system for running/biking
    Running metronome
I’m planning to train for a 70.3 Ironman next year and will probably be switching to a Garmin to suit my needs.
If tracking swimming distance isn’t important and you enjoy running / cycling, this is still a great watch! Sturdy, aesthetically pleasing, low fuss and not too many bells and whistles to navigate and learn. It’s just enough to track your activity and basic health stats.

Very happy with this watch after just 2 weeks…. This is my second scanwatch, the back fell of the last one after only 20 months, so I was refunded under warranty and bought this new model as replacement. Hopefully it lasts longer. But I am pretty hard on my watches, I don't take it off for anything, so if is not tough enough, I will know soon enough…
(Note I have the 38mm watch not the 42mm in the heading)
