After a month and a half, I still love it!
I have adrenal fatigue, and I’m trying to lose weight. SO HARD! I started taking these about a month and a half ago along with Swanson Lowfat Proprietary Blend (with Piper betle and Dolichos biflorus). I really don’t like the taste of the Swanson pills, so I often skip them, so I can credit the rhodiola with increased energy and reduced appetite. I’m not remotely jittery, and I still get hungry, so it’s not like amphetamine diet pills, but I have more normal type energy (vs. adrenal fatigue) and I don’t feel hungry when I’m not really hungry. Does that make sense? I feel like there are different kinds of hunger–emotional hunger (the urge to eat when stressed out), constant hunger (the urge to eat even when the stomach is full), and body hungry (hungry when the stomach is empty). With these I rarely want food except when I’m body hungry. I also think they might help regulate my blood sugar better. At any rate, before I started taking them, I was having more low blood sugar episodes, and now I have very few. I am losing weight slowly, but it is really happening, and I’m so grateful. Before, as soon as the food in my belly was gone, my blood sugar would crash because my body was having trouble converting fat to energy. That doesn’t seem to be a problem any longer, and I credit rhodiola. It makes me feel better, and it makes me confident that I can lose weight despite the adrenal fatigue. Fabulous!

Best vitamin ever!
I’ve been on meds in the past for anxiety and depression and I hate how they make me feel as well as the time it takes to level out. I read about Rhodiola in Prevention Mag and gave it a try. I was really amazed! The guy at the store told me to be a lil careful the first few times I took it bc it could make me a lil woozy n it did but after that I noticed a big difference. My racing thoughts went away, I could focus and feel confident, and my anxiety almost fully diminished. I’ve tried a few brands but I really like this Now brand. Some of the other brands did still give me anxiety but I’d say it was more bc they had like an energy booster or something. This one doesn’t make me jittery. This vitamin, for some reason, makes me break out into a sweat. I don’t know why and it doesn’t matter the brand but I don’t mind it too much. I use to take it as needed but now I take one in the morning everyday and I def notice a difference if I forget to take it. I tell everyone about this vitamin. It is truly a lifesaver. Oh one last thing: this price is outstanding! 120 tabs for $19 is crazy good. I was buying 30 tabs for like $12… smh. Love it!!!

Helped Tremendously with Gilbert’s Syndrome High Bilirubin Levels and Stress/Anxiety Levels
This supplement has replaced my prescription for Wellbutrin (after titrating off of it which was supervised/advised by my doctor and then FULLY being off of it for a couple months), in addition Rhodiola has lowered my Bilirubin levels to within the normal range. I have what is called Gilbert’s Syndrome and have had extremely high Bilirubin levels (off the charts high – roughly 5x the normal level) for the past 18 years or so (most of my adult life) that I’ve gotten blood work done. Since being on Rhodiola, my Bilirubin levels have returned to within the normal range. After doing much research on Rhodiola I was surprised to find out the numerous benefits to your liver function while regularly taking it.Is this a cure-all herbal supplement that will serve all of your needs? I don’t think so. Like all herbs, especially adaptogenic herbs, everyone’s body is different and the herb will either work for you or it simply will not be that effective. Although, I think taking Rhodiola is worth a try since it is affordable and virtually side-effect free.I also started taking 5-HTP at night in addition to Rhodiola and my body and mind are thanking me for it.

adrenal/energy support
I feel as though I am taking a gamble with Now Foods, but this product ended up being good quality.Rhodiola belongs to a class of herbs known as adaptogens. Others in this category include asian ginseng, ashwagandha, maca, eleuthero (S/P?), tulsi and some others. All these herbs share the property of assisting the human being in adapting to various environmental stressors. They all help in support of the adrenal glands and kidneys, but each also have unique properties.Rhodiola specifically is great for increasing cardiovascular capacity, whether you are going to be racing, staying in higher elevations or whatever. It will also decrease recovery time from exercise or hard physical labor. It comes originally from Siberia and helped the Russians survive cold winters due to its ability to improve circulation SPECIFICALLY to the extremities. Now my personal experience with Rhodiola is that it is less heating than other adaptogens. I have a hot constitution, so using asian ginseng, maca or ashwagandha in the warmer months for me is a no no. The astringent, rosy flavor from this herb leads me to believe that it possesses less fire than the others and it is also my experience. The only caution I have is that I have heard of people using too much of this herb and getting over stimulated. This has not happened to me, but I think it is worth it to mention.

Works for me
I have PTSD and Major Depression. I don’t like how prescription anti depession meds make me feel so I figured I would try this out. Rhodiola doesn’t have as strong of an effect as an SSRI or prescription depression meds. It does seem to work for me. My mood is much better, I have more energy, I have been more positive, and haven’t been getting as angry. It does have a positive effect for me. I am going to order a bottle from Jarrow to see if it works any better. I would order this again though.
