This is a solid air purifier. I bought it after the LA fires and immediately noticed the quality of the air improve with this. I also have a pet and this keeps my pet’s smell toned down. I compared so many different air purifiers and I’m glad I settled on this one, it seems for the price point it does very well for a 1 bedroom apartment. It’s pretty quiet as well and the design is sleek

Been wanting to get 1 of these to try, and thanks to July Prime days this year, I bought 2 for the apartment. SO HAPPY I got the ones that had the extra layer of pet hair collection!! These babies work so well. They catch the pet hairs well, needing a pet hair filter change after 2 months. I have 2 cats/2dogs, as reference. The larger air filter was clean still at 2 months, so will check again after another 2 months.They can purify a regular size bedroom in an hour or 2, depending on size and quality if air before. It makes such a great difference in the air here. I use 1 in the great living room area and just move it slightly to point to the different areas. When we have gatherings, I just bumped it up to the highest setting. It rocks!! The other is usually in the hallway between the bedrooms. I’ve been putting it into each room for a couple hours weekly individually. I will be back to buy another one for my bedroom specifically, it really helps with my hay fever/allergies.

Wifey loves it! She’s super-sensitive to odors, especially cigarette smoke. She can smell smoke from another room with the doors closed. This TOTALLY WORKS! It has 3 speed settings. Low setting is perfect in order to sleep, barely noticeable, considering it’s on the side dresser. High setting sounds like a typhoon, ha! But, you can really feel the speed of the air being circulated…so this setting is only needed for perhaps 15 minutes upon entering the room if you’ve turned it off. Speaking of turning it off, I can’t seem to find the “off” button, ha! Please notice the Neon Blue Circle Light that indicates the UV is on. It is bright enough to function as a night light, ha! But you can turn this off as it’s not needed to be on all the time. Be aware it ships in the manufacturer’s box and though a strong box, it could be damaged in transit. Mine had a little dent/tear on the box, but the top and bottom interior have a cardboard square that holds the purifier in place and away from the sides of the box. Interesting thing, it seems to filter out the aromatherapy bouquet that our infuser puts out, ha! It works so well, I ALREADY ORDERED ANOTHER for my office where I smoke! WORTH THE ALREADY GREAT PRICE! 🙂

up front comparing this product to BlueAir 411i Max series which is comparable for bedroom size rooms. I paid $111 for the GermGuardian AC4300BPTCA and $169 for the Blueair 411i Max.Pros for the Germ Guardian – it costs less than the BlueAir compariable by about $40-60 depending on taking advantage of sales. It has a UV germ filter, I ran if for a week in my bedroom (before any other filter use) and I could tell a noticeable improvement in the quality of my air. Whatever allergens had been bothering me were noticeably reduced and my comfort level improved during sleep.Cons for the Germ Guardian – it’s noisy, it is completely manual, and you can’t dim the lights on the controls. So at night we put a cover over the controls as we didn’t need a nightlight.Pros for the BlueAir series. very very quiet. On auto maintenance mode – you can’t hear the thing. These are smart machines. You can monitor every aspect of your air quality through the app. You can adjust the control lights from off to bright. It tracks months of air quality data for the room it is in by month, week, day. You can adjust from sleep mode, auto, and 3 fan speeds using the app remotely. It tells you how much filter life is left. It tells you the outside air quality and compares to your inside.Example of its effectiveness; I was sautéing some Italian sausage and onions, the unit detected the particles and immediately went into high mode for about 5 minutes until all the odor was eliminated and then went back to silent. The front LED bar changes from Blue to Green, orange and red depending on the air quality while at the same time adjusting the fan speed to address the corresponding level of air quality indicated. Same thing happened when smoking some meat on the back patio. I left the door open to bring in the food, the unit detected the smoke and the front LED went red. After closing the door, it ran on high mode until the LED indicators began to regress back to blue and the fan speed decreasing accordingly until all the smoke odor was eliminated from the room.As with the Germ Guardian, I have noticed a very positive difference in the air quality in my living room so I can’t really comment on the specific differences in air quality effectiveness from any scientific measurement.Cons for the BlueAir product. It is a bit pricier – but for all the differences – so far, I feel the Blue Air product is definitely worth the price difference, for me at least.What I have not addressed: the longivity of the products; the life of the filter; ease of maintaining; Both of my purchases are within the first month;I will use both. I have a small apartment room that is not always occupied and I will keep the GermGuardian there as the noise level will not be an issue and the air quality will be maintained.I have the Blueair 211i Max and 411iMax in my living room and bedroom and will keep them there. If you want to have a good cost effective air purifier that does the job and don’t wish to spend the extra $$$ on the bells and whistles, then the Germ Guardian is a solid choice.

I bought one of these air purifiers in 2020. Before that I got two from the same company a long time ago so when I bought this one I was pleased. The ones I got years ago needed to be replaced. So now this is my second one of this model. I am well pleased and hope that these will last several years. They are quieter and more attractive than the older ones. I have COPD and they help a lot. I had some visitors that remarked how much better the air quality is now. These were slightly more expensive, but worth it. UPDATE: I came back because I wanted to see if I could find the manual. So I read some of the questions and reviews. Here is the thing, as much as these work for cleaning the air, they are “divas”. I learned the hard way that changing the filter or the bulb, the purifier makes it confusing because if the filter or the bulb is exactly right it won’t turn on, and it is EXTREMELY important to hit the reset button. I grew frustrated so I hope this helps those that are having problems. The filter has an arrow telling the right way to put it in, even then it sometime doesn’t sit right. Try pushing the filter to make sure the back is fitting securely. The bulb that shows up as a blue UV light is to help get rid of germs. That flashes and if you take it out you can tell because it will be black.

Hi – I’d just like to give you a friendly warning ! This looked like a nice quality item. It arrived in a box all covered with tape and labels which made it look like it had been opened and returned before (can’t prove that but it certainly looks that way) AND it has a US plug on it. I now find that to send it back I must drive 14 miles to the nearest town, at my expense in petrol and time, to take it to a shop which acts as an agent for the returns. What a lousy deal. Also, have found a great alternative at less than HALF the price.

This product had good reviews with no clues that when it arrived it would only have an American plug. It also looks as if it has to be returned to the US. Does anyone have any advice as to what would be best to do?
