Finally found the right ice machine after trying 3 others
I’ve been through the wringer with knee surgeries over the last decade, and I’ve tried just about every cold therapy machine out there. After my most recent surgery two months ago, my insurance sent over this awful machine , honestly just a tube hooked up to what looked like a fish tank pump in a flimsy bucket. Noisy as hell, the bucket felt like it would leak any second, and the pad was so small. I ended up putting the whole bucket inside a cooler because I didn’t trust it. When I called to swap it out, they offered me another Breg unit. I’d used Breg after my first surgery back in 2015, decent machine, ran quiet, but for some reason they didn’t put a power button on it. I had to physically unplug the thing every time to turn it off. That got old fast.Back in 2018 after I tore my ACL again, I’d bought a Cryo Cuff. That one ran on gravity, no electricity, which meant you had to position it way above your knee. Did keep things cold, but the reservoir was small, I was refilling it with ice multiple times a day. Not ideal when you’re trying to rest.So this time I decided to find my own. Got this CRYOFORCE and honestly, it’s what I should’ve had from the start. The remote is probably my favorite thing about it. It’s solid, good weight to it, with these silicone buttons that click when you press them. Three different modes to pick from, you can run it continuous, set a timer, or put it on loop. The loop mode is a game changer. I set it for 20 minutes on, 20 minutes off (which is what my PT says works best), and it just runs all night while I sleep. I don’t have to wake up to mess with anything. There’s also this flow control feature where you can dial the coldness up or down. I think it adjusts the pump to control how much ice water moves through the system. And there’s a pulse setting that makes the water flow in intervals flow for a few seconds, stop for a few seconds. When you’ve got the wrap tight, you can actually feel it pulsing. Never had that on any other machine. Just don’t put it directly on your skin, use a pillowcase or T shirt as a barrier. The full knee pad is another big deal. Out of their three models, this is the only one with the wrap that goes all the way around my knee. After three knee surgeries, I can tell you the back of your knee swells up just as much as the front, even when there’s no incision back there.Size wise, the 16 qt tank is perfect. Not too big, not too small. Has these rubber handles that make it easy to move around. Fits 6 of those 16 oz water bottles, more if you really want to pack it. The whole unit with the tubing and pad weighs maybe 3 lbs. Tubing is long and VERY flexible, doesn’t get stiff.Setup is also straightforward, there’s instructions on the lid, a manual, and they have a video you can watch. I suggest using two sets of frozen bottles and swap them out every night.Quick note on temperature since I see people get confused about this, these machines don’t refrigerate anything. How cold it gets depends entirely on how much ice you put in. The pump just circulates the water. Some machines have weak pumps and don’t get cold enough. Others have powerful pumps that are way too loud, like that insurance machine that kept me awake. This one is perfect: cold enough, quiet enough, and the pad actually covers the area that needs it.Out of the 3 units I’ve used over the years, this is easily the best one.

A Total Life-Saver for My Knee and Shoulder!
My wife and I have both been dealing with a lot of joint pain lately. We both try and stay active without pounding our joints. But even with low impact sports and workouts, we still get that ache at the end of the day. This CF-3 Pro machine has been a total game-changer for us.Why It’s Better Than a Bag of Peas:If you’ve ever tried to balance a bag of ice or a leaky gel pack on your knee or shoulder, you know it’s a pain. It slips off, it’s too cold in one spot and not cold enough in another, and it melts in 20 minutes. The “Set It and Forget It” Factor: You just fill this bucket with ice and water, strap the pad on, and turn it on. It pumps cold water through the pad constantly. It stays cold for hours, not minutes. The Wraparound Pads: The pads that come with this are huge. They don’t just sit on top of your knee; they wrap all the way around it. It feels like your whole joint is being cradled in a cold hug. It’s the same for the shoulder pad—it actually stays in place. Both on my knee and my wife’s.Really Easy to Use:The Giant Tank: The bucket (reservoir) is massive (16.8QT). I don’t like constantly hauling ice, so I just freeze a few plastic water bottles and drop them in. It keeps the water freezing cold all day long.No Noise: I was worried it would sound like a loud fish tank, but it’s actually really quiet. I can use it throughout the day without ever noticing the sound. The Timer: You can set it to turn on and off on a schedule. This is great because you aren’t supposed to keep ice on your skin forever, and the machine handles the timing for you.Does it work?Since I started using this after my swims, the swelling in my knees has gone down significantly. It’s making it much easier to keep up with my exercise. If you have constant joint pain or you’re planning for a big surgery and don’t know where to start, get this machine. It’s way easier and more effective than anything else I’ve tried.

I didn’t hope too much but it redefined my expectations
I don’t normally leave reviews, but I wanted to share my experience with the CRYOFORCE extra large full knee pad after a few days of use. A lot of YouTube videos mentioned ice packs or similar stuff with minimal results, but those who used actual cold therapy machines consistently said they had way better outcomes — less pain, less swelling, faster recovery. So I thought I’d give it a try on Amazon, this new arrival — CRYOFORCE cold therapy machine stood out with its innovative design. It just looks and feels different from everything else out there. High density black foam material not only has a slick design, but more importantly, impressive insulation. The machine also feels rock solid, and the inside tank is clean, unlike other machines I saw in review photos where you can see the pump and wires all somewhat exposed and messy. The tubing is also really soft and easy to move around when set up.My favorite part is the XL cold pad. It completely covers my entire knee and even reaches some part of my thigh. The insulated cover also helps hold it in place better. The remote comes handy and is really easy to learn, and has more than enough functions. It’s a large capacity is abundant to hold 4-5 16.9oz water bottle. Freeze them the night before, place them inside the tank, and add water to the fill line and voila! Swap them when the water gets warm. Little effort to maintain with a knee still recovering.Overall, a great solid machine with a slick form factor, and most importantly it really worked — less pain, less swelling and hopefully faster recovery. Will continuously using it 100% and I highly encourage everyone to give it a try and reimburse with your FSA or HSA.
